How do I get to Tortola if I fly through San Juan?

There are two airlines that offer a San Juan (SJU) — Tortola, Beef Island Airport (EIS) route. Check the Cape Air and Seaborne Airlines websites.

Alternatively, if you are travelling as a large group, you might want to charter a private plane. The cost isn’t much more than individual airline tickets. For private charters we recommend Fly BVI  and Island Birds.

How do I get to the BVI through St. Thomas/USVI?

There are quite a few flight options into St Thomas which makes it really accessible. To choose an airline will mostly depend on where are you are flying from and which options are available.

From St. Thomas to Tortola the easiest way to travel is by Ferry or Water taxi. The ferries depart from Charlotte Amalie or Red Hook so please see the schedule.

How do I get to the BVI from the United Kingdom?

British Airways and Virgin Atlantic fly from London into Antigua twice a week! From there, LIAT (Caribbean airlines) offers connecting flights into Tortola (Beef Island airport code EIS).

Alternatively you can fly from Heathrow via the USA, and then transfer into either Beef Island (EIS) or St Thomas (STT).

How do I get to the BVI from Europe?

The Air France, Alitalia and KLM all fly into St Marten (SXM) daily. For connections to the BVI you can either take LIAT , Air Sunshine  or Winair  to Tortola (EIS).

Alternatively, if you fly through the USA into St Thomas, USVI you can then take the ferry rather easily. However, you must remember to apply and pay for an ESTA visa waiver to enter the United States at least 74 hours before travelling.
